There are at least two ways to format a disk: standard
format and Quick Format. What's the difference? If you're sure the disk
is okay, then you can save time using Quick Format. But if you're not
sure, you'd better go for the full format. The Quick Format process
doesn't check the disk as thoroughly, so a bad disk can get through.
To format a disk, open My Computer and right-click the disk's icon.
Choose Format from the menu and then tell Windows NT you want to use
Quick Format (standard format is the default). When you're ready, click
Start.
